Constant Pumps Bent Axis

The constant pump with inclined axis is a particularly robust and powerful axial piston pump based on the inclined axis principle. It delivers a fixed delivery volume per revolution, making it ideal for applications that require a constant oil supply. Thanks to its compact design, high efficiency and excellent continuous running stability, it is frequently used in industrial plants, mobile machinery, stationary units and drive modules. In the LöSi® web shop, you will find constant pumps in various sizes, pressure stages and connection variants – ideal for reliable hydraulic systems.

What is a Bent Axis Fixed Displacement Pump?

The fixed displacement pump in bent axis design is considered the top class among axial piston pumps. Its design principle is engineered for maximum robustness: The cylinder block is inclined at a fixed angle (mostly 40°) to the drive shaft.

Unlike variable displacement pumps, it delivers a fixed defined displacement per revolution. This "simplicity" makes it extremely resistant. It manages with fewer moving parts than swashplate pumps and therefore offers higher reliability at extreme pressures and speeds.

Advantages of Our Fixed Displacement Pumps (Bent Axis)

If your application is "Heavy Duty", the bent axis is the right choice. It is less sensitive to contamination and cavitation than other piston pumps.

Technical superiority in detail:

  • Highest Efficiency: Due to the large swivel angle, these pumps work extremely efficiently (little heat loss).
  • Self-Priming: Thanks to the design, they have excellent suction behavior, which facilitates use on high-mounted tanks (e.g., on truck frames).
  • Pressure Resistance: Designed for continuous high-pressure applications (often 350-400 bar).
  • Compactness: The slender design fits perfectly into tight chassis spaces next to the gearbox.

Typical Areas of Application

The bent axis pump is the favorite of mobile hydraulics, but also finds its place in industry:

  • Commercial Vehicles (Trucks): The standard drive for tippers, loading cranes, and hooklifts (often mounted directly on the PTO).
  • Forestry: Harvesters and forwarders that require robust high-pressure oil supply.
  • Stationary Industry: Power units for presses where constant high pressure is required.
  • Drive Modules: Fan drives in large construction machinery.

Selection Criteria & Technical Data

For integration into your system, flange and flow rate must match exactly.

Pay attention to these points during configuration:

  • Displacement: Common are 10 to over 160 cm³/rev. (Tip for trucks: Tippers often need large volumes for fast lifting).
  • Flange Pattern: Do you need the ISO flange (4-bolt, truck standard) or an SAE flange for industrial engines?
  • Direction of Rotation: Pay attention to the direction of rotation of the power take-off (PTO). However, many of our pumps are simply convertible (Bi-Directional).
  • Bypass Valve: For truck applications, we often recommend pumps with an integrated bypass if the pump runs permanently.
