What is a Gear Pump Group 2 (BG2)?
The gear pump of Group 2 (BG2) is the absolute workhorse in mobile hydraulics. It covers the medium performance range and is the most frequently installed hydraulic pump in tractors and power units worldwide.
Compared to the smaller BG1, the BG2 series offers significantly larger gears and more robust bearings. This allows it to realize higher displacements (approx. 4 to 30 cm³/rev) at stable pressures up to 250 bar. It is the ideal balance of compactness and power.

Selection Criteria & Technical Data
Attention: Not all BG2s are the same. Identification is done via the flange and the shaft.
Measure these points before ordering (Identification):
- Centering Collar: The most important dimension!
- Euro Standard: 36.5 mm centering (4-bolt fastening 96.2 x 71.5 mm).
- Bosch Standard: 50 mm or 52 mm centering (2-bolt "spectacle flange").
- Shaft: Mostly tapered 1:8 (standard) or tapered 1:5 (Bosch). Count the teeth exactly on splined shafts (e.g., 9T or 11T).
- Displacement: Common are 8, 11, 14, 16, 20, or 25 cm³/rev.
- Direction of Rotation: Looking at the shaft: Right or Left?
