LBV Disk Brakes
The LBV multi-disc brake from LöSi® is a powerful hydraulically ventilated multi-disc brake specially designed for large gerotor motor series such as the EPMT® or EPMV® series. When the motor is at a standstill, the LBV multi-disc brake reliably performs the holding function – ideal for applications with high loads, high torques and demanding environments. Thanks to its robust design, wide range of variants and rapid availability, LöSi offers a solution that makes your hydraulic application safe.
What is an LBV Multi-Disc Brake?
The LBV multi-disc brake from LöSi® is the high-performance version among hydraulically released multi-disc brakes. It was specially developed for combination with our large gerotor motor series – especially for the EPMT® and EPMV® series.
Where standard brakes reach their load limits, the LBV takes over: It ensures a reliable holding function for applications with extremely high torques and harsh environmental conditions. It is the safety backbone for your heavy-duty hydraulics.
Advantages of the LBV Series (Heavy Duty)
The "hydraulically released" operating principle guarantees maximum safety: Without hydraulic pressure, the brake closes automatically and holds the load securely at a standstill (parking brake). The LBV series impresses with enormous power reserves and a wide variety of versions.
A look at the technical performance data (e.g., Model LBV 314/130 C):
- Enormous Holding Torque: Static torque up to 130 daNm (approx. 1300 Nm) for secure holding of heavy loads.
- Robust Interface: Designed for strong output shafts, e.g., Ø 40 mm.
- Precise Control: Defined opening pressures (e.g., 27-29 bar) for exact releasing of the brake.
Typical Areas of Application for the LBV Multi-Disc Brake
The LBV brake can be found wherever large motors have to perform heavy work. It secures plants and machinery in safety-critical areas:
- Heavy-Duty Conveyor Technology: Backstop for large belt systems.
- Forestry & Agricultural Technology: Securing winches and heavy attachments.
- Metalworking: Positioning of workpieces in presses or punches.
- Construction Machinery: Parking brake for wheel and track drives.
Selection Criteria & Technical Data
The correct design of a safety brake is essential. The static holding torque of the brake must mandatorily be higher than the maximum load torque acting on the motor.
Pay attention to the following points during configuration:
- Compatibility: Do the flange and shaft intake fit your EPMT/EPMV motor?
- Release Pressure: Can your hydraulic system provide the necessary opening pressure?
- Safety: Is the leakage oil pressure low enough to prevent unintentional closing?
