Quick cupplings

Quick-release couplings enable particularly fast and safe coupling and uncoupling of hose or pipe connections in hydraulic systems. Simply connecting the sleeve and plug eliminates the need for screws, saving valuable time and making work processes more efficient. Our ‘Quick-release couplings’ category in the webshop offers you a wide selection of plug-in and screw-on variants – ideal for mobile systems, workshop equipment or stationary hydraulic systems.

What are Quick-Release Couplings?

Quick-release couplings (short: quick couplings) are the interfaces of mobile hydraulics. They allow connecting and disconnecting hydraulic lines in seconds – and often without tools. The principle is simple: A coupling sleeve (female) and a coupling plug (male) are plugged together or screwed to release the oil flow.

Our range covers the two main technologies:

  • Push-in Couplings: For lightning-fast changes (Push-Pull principle).
  • Screw Couplings: For extreme loads and vibrations where push-in connections could come loose.

Benefits of Our Quick Couplings

Time is money – especially on the construction site or in the field. Anyone changing attachments doesn't want to screw, but plug. But modern couplings offer more than just speed.

Technical added value for professionals:

  • Flat-Face Technology (ISO 16028): Flat-sealing couplings prevent oil leakage during uncoupling ("leak-free") and are easy to clean so no dirt gets into the system.
  • Safety: Integrated locking mechanisms prevent unintentional opening of the line under pressure.
  • Flow-Optimized: Modern geometries minimize pressure loss in the system, which saves energy.
  • Robustness: Hardened surfaces (galvanized steel or stainless steel) protect against wear from frequent coupling.

Typical Areas of Application for Quick-Release Couplings

Without quick couplings, modern flexibility would be unthinkable. They are the standard in:

  • Agricultural Technology: Tractors use push-in couplings (often ISO 7241-A) to connect plows or tippers.
  • Construction Machinery: Excavators often use robust screw couplings for hydraulic hammers (high pressure impulses).
  • Industry & Test Benches: Fast changing of test objects without oil puddles.
  • Municipal Technology: Winter service vehicles that are converted seasonally.

Selection Criteria & Technical Data

Nothing is more annoying than a plug that doesn't fit into the sleeve. Standardization is the decisive criterion here.

Check these parameters before buying:

  • Design & Standard: Do you need ISO 7241-A (Agriculture), ISO 7241-B (Industry), or ISO 16028 (Flat-Face)?
  • Body Size (BG): The body size defines the flow rate. Measure the diameter of the plug or use the BG code (e.g., BG 3, BG 6).
  • Connection Thread: What thread does your hose assembly have (BSP, Metric, NPT)?
  • Coupling under Pressure: Must the coupling be connectable under residual pressure? There are special variants for this (connect under pressure).
