Solenoid Valves

Hydraulic solenoid valves control the flow of hydraulic fluid and thereby actuate hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic motors, or other hydraulic components. These valves are operated by an electromagnetic coil.

How a hydraulic solenoid valve works:

  • Idle state: When no current flows through the coil, the valve remains in its default position. This position can be either open or closed, depending on the circuit diagram.
  • Activated state: When current flows through the coil, a magnetic field is generated that moves the armature. This movement changes the position of the valve body and thus the state of the valve.

There are different types of solenoid valves, depending on the number of ports and switching positions. A 2/2-way valve, for example, has two ports and two switching positions, while a 4/3-way valve has 4 ports (Pump, Tank, port "A", port "B") and 3 switching positions.
