What is an EPMM Hydraulic Motor?

The EPMM® hydraulic motor is the smallest design of our gerotor motor series. Technically, it is characterized by a special feature: The valving is located directly in the shaft. Here, the spool valve functions as an integrated part of the output shaft.

The operating principle is as ingenious as it is compact: The cardan shaft transmits the mechanical energy from the gear set to the output shaft and simultaneously takes over the control of the oil flow. This design enables extremely high power density in the smallest of spaces – ideal for applications where every millimeter counts.

 

Advantages of the EPMM Series (LL, FR & RS)

In addition to the standard version, the EPMM® series offers specialized variants that solve technical problems in practice. We offer you motors that are tailored exactly to your hydraulic challenges:

  • Series "LL" (Low Leakage): These motors are optimized for lowest leakage. They significantly reduce volumetric losses and are perfectly suitable for hydraulic systems where motors are connected in series.
  • Series "FR" (Free Running): Mechanical resistance is minimized by increased clearances between the rotating parts. The result: Better lubrication, longer service life at high speeds (> 300 rpm), and optimized freewheeling.
  • Option "RS" (Speed Sensor): For digital monitoring, this sensor delivers a precise output signal proportional to the speed – essential for modern control technology.

Important note on shaft load:
The permissible radial shaft load must be calculated and depends on the distance (L) of the load application (Formula: Prad = 13040 / (61.5 + L) * ...). If the limit values are exceeded, we strongly recommend the use of a flexible coupling to prevent damage to the shaft.
