What is a Hydraulic Fitting?

A hydraulic fitting (often called a tube fitting) is the universal connecting piece in pipeline construction. It serves to connect rigid hydraulic pipes or hose assemblies securely and leak-free to components such as pumps, cylinders, or control blocks.

The premier class here is the cutting ring fitting according to DIN 2353. When tightening the union nut, a hardened ring cuts into the tube and creates a positive connection that withstands extreme pressures. Our range covers all designs: From the Straight Screw-in Fitting (GE) to Elbow (WE) and complex T-Pieces (TE).

Advantages of Our Hydraulic Fittings

With fittings, precision determines whether you have a tight seal or an oil puddle. Our components are manufactured to the highest dimensional accuracy to minimize assembly errors.

Technical features for your safety:

  • Variety of Series: Subdivided into Light Series (L) for standard applications and Heavy Series (S) for extreme pressures and pressure peaks (often over 600 bar).
  • Sealing Systems: Choice of metallic sealing (cutting edge) or with additional O-ring seals (DKO) for maximum leak protection under vibrations.
  • Connection Flexibility: Adapter solutions for the transition from Metric to Inch (BSP), JIC, or ORFS enable worldwide compatibility of your system.
  • Corrosion Protection: High-quality surfaces (e.g., Zinc-Nickel) protect against rust in outdoor use.

Typical Areas of Application for Hydraulic Fittings

Fittings are the link in every hydraulic circuit. They are indispensable in:

  • Stationary Plant Construction: Piping of hydraulic power units and presses (fixed installation).
  • Mobile Machinery: Connection of hoses to valve blocks on excavators and cranes.
  • Repair & Maintenance: Use of Adjustable Fittings (EV) to align lines subsequently.
  • Shipbuilding & Offshore: Use of stainless steel fittings in corrosive environments.

Selection Criteria & Technical Data

The wrong fitting is the most common cause of leaks. Pay close attention to the connection geometry.

Check these parameters before ordering:

  • Tube Outer Diameter (OD): Which tube (e.g., 12 mm, 16 mm, 22 mm) do you want to connect?
  • Series (L vs. S): Attention! A 12L connection does not fit a 12S connection, as the thread sizes are different.
  • Screw-in Thread: Check the thread in the component (Metric, BSP-Inch, NPT, or UNF). Use a thread gauge.
  • Sealing Form: Do you need a soft seal (ED) for flat surfaces or an O-ring seal for cone connections?

Tip: Always use assembly paste when assembling stainless steel fittings to prevent "galling" of the thread.
