What is a Hose Fitting?

A hose fitting is the crucial connecting piece that turns a flexible rubber hose into a ready-to-mount hydraulic line. It generally consists of two components: the crimp nipple (which is inserted into the hose) and the crimp ferrule (which is pressed on from the outside).

Only through the professional crimping of these components is a form-fit and force-fit connection created that withstands pressures of several hundred bar. Our range covers everything from straight standard fittings to complex banjo fittings with hollow screws (ring nipples) for tight installation spaces.

Advantages of Our Hose Fittings

The quality of the fitting determines the tightness of the system. Cheap components often lead to the hose "wandering" out of the ferrule and tearing off during pressure peaks.

Rely on LöSi® quality for your safety:

  • Perfect Grip: Our crimp ferrules interlock optimally with the hose cover (skive or non-skive) during the crimping process for maximum pull-out resistance.
  • Enormous Variety: Whether metric, inch, or American – we offer matching nipples for almost every worldwide connection standard.
  • High Pressure Resistant: Designed for demanding applications (e.g., SAE flanges for 3,000 psi or 6,000 psi systems).
  • Durability: High-quality coatings protect the steel parts against corrosion.

Typical Areas of Application for Hose Fittings

Hose fittings are needed wherever hydraulic energy needs to be transmitted flexibly. Our customers come from all areas of fluid technology:

  • Hose Assembly: Workshops and service providers who have to repair defective lines immediately on site.
  • Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM): Series production of lines for new machines.
  • Agricultural Technology: Special repair solutions for tractors and attachments.
  • Industry: Complex piping with banjo fittings in tight machine housings.

Selection Criteria & Technical Data

Identifying the right fitting is often the biggest hurdle. A wrong sealing cone inevitably leads to leaks.

Check these points before ordering:

  • Sealing System: What connection does your counterpart have? (e.g., DKOL/DKOS with 24° cone, JIC with 37° cone, or BSP flat sealing).
  • Nominal Size (DN): The nipple must fit exactly to the inner diameter of the hose (e.g., DN 6 to DN 31).
  • Thread Type: Determine the thread (Metric, Inch/BSPP, or UN/UNF) precisely with a thread gauge.
  • Ferrule Type: Make sure that the crimp ferrule matches the hose type (e.g., ferrule for 2SN hoses).

Tip: With banjo fittings, you must also note the diameter of the hollow screw.
