The HKU steering orbitrol is the most economical solution for reliable hydrostatic steering. As a compact control unit, it converts the rotary movement of the steering wheel into a hydraulic volume flow that moves the steering cylinders precisely.

Selection Criteria & Technical Data (Type Key)
The most important thing with the HKU series is choosing the right version. A wrong type leads to malfunctions in the hydraulic circuit.
Pay close attention to the suffix (HKU.../X):
- HKU.../3 (Open Center - Load Reaction):
Function: Oil flows through in neutral position. The steering wheel reacts to road forces and turns back (reaction behavior). Ideal for road travel. - HKU.../4 (Open Center - Non Load Reaction):
Function: Oil flows through in neutral position. Road shocks are NOT transmitted to the steering wheel. The steering wheel stays put. Standard for slow working machines. - HKU.../7 (Closed Center - Non Load Reaction):
Function: Oil flow blocked in neutral position (pressure is applied). For systems with constant pressure or variable displacement pumps.
Important: Additionally check the required displacement (e.g., HKU 100 = 100 cm³/revolution).
